MANCHESTER, NH – Mark and Rita McCabe invite everyone to try their revolutionary Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream, 119 Hanover St., on March 22 from 4-6 p.m.

Flash-frozen directly in front of the customer with liquid nitrogen, this unique process creates a super creamy and delicious treat like nothing you’ve tried before. There’s no air! Just solid, fresh ice cream made to order. Also available: shakes, smoothies, Italian ices, frozen custard, yogurt, acai bowls, bubble tea, frozen bananas and more.

Our method offers a unique focus on incorporating science concepts into ice cream making; and we enjoy hosting science demonstrations for the schools and youth groups in our community.

The McCabes opened their first location in Nashua in 2014 and have since grown the New England territory to include Cambridge, MA, Worcester, MA, and their fourth location in Manchester, which officially opened in spring of 2022. Another location is planned to open soon in Ashland, MA.

Mark is a 20-year Navy veteran.  He and Rita give of their time helping Veterans through leadership positions in the VFW as well as having been in leadership positions with the non-profit Veteran Business Owner Initiative (VBOI).

“We absolutely love that we make people smile every day.  The fact that we can accommodate any allergies, dietary restrictions in so many delicious flavors is huge,” says Rita. “One of our favorite parts of the business is teaching kids about the science of liquid nitrogen at the schools.  It’s one of Sub Zero’s core tenants.  In this location, we share a space with Prime Time Grilled Cheese which makes awesome sandwiches.  It’s a great partnership.  They are celebrating their 1 year anniversary.”

There will also be a demonstration of science experiments, and a raffle for a chance to win free ice cream for an entire year. There will be balloons and music, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

About Sub Zero

The first Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream shop opened in 2005, after founders Jerry and Naomi Hancock discovered liquid nitrogen is a safe, unique and cost-effective method for creating delicious, customizable ice cream products. Using his background in chemistry, Jerry patented his unique process of freezing ice cream using liquid nitrogen, and in 2008 began franchising. Following an appearance on NBC’s “Shark Tank” in 2013, Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream was named Forbes’ “10 Best Franchises to Buy From ‘Shark Tank’” in 2017. Sub Zero currently has more than 30 franchise locations across the country.
