Manchester Historic Association celebrates local champions of history with 29th annual Historic Preservation Awards

This year’s Manchester Historic Association’s Historic Preservation Awards recognized a family whose stewardship of their 114-year-old house has renovated and maintained it to pristine condition, a grassroots effort to restore the Casimir Pulaski statue in Pulaski Park, and similar initiatives to adapt or save old buildings from demolition.

How a 21-mile rail trail holds the key to happiness, health, and prosperity for Manchester residents

Currently, the Granite State Rail Trail, an almost contiguous 125-mile rail-trail that runs diagonally across New Hampshire from the Northwest corner to Salem with a 21-mile gap that excludes Manchester residents from enjoying the health and social benefits and increased economic activity that a rail trail will bring to the community. This 21-miles of little-used rail line can be converted to an active transportation corridor, a shared-use trail used for jogging, walking, and biking.

Kids on the Move at 9th Annual Friends of Aine Kid’s Try-athlon

Friends of Aine, a nonprofit organization providing bereavement support services to grieving children, teens and families, held its 9th annual Kid’s Try-athlon on Sunday, August 15 at the Bedford Town Hall and High School. More than 275 children of all athletic abilities participated in the swimming, biking, and running event.
