MANCHESTER, NH – Shaunte Whitted was excited when I messaged to tell her she won last week’s winner of our Reader Appreciation Subscriber Raffle, earning her a $25 gift card to Mint Bistro.

Whitted said she has been looking forward to trying the restaurant, and now she has no excuse: Date night is on the horizon.

I love getting out and about to meet with readers, especially when I can give them some free stuff. If you’d like to be in the running for our raffle, all you have to do is sign up for our free daily eNewsletter. Sign-up form is at the bottom of this story, or just click here.

How it works

To honor both our loyal readers and local business owners, we have launched an affordable Small Group Business ad deal, to help small businesses get the word out to readers about their goods and services at an affordable price, with one caveat.

In exchange, we ask them to provide a gift card we then can raffle to our most loyal of loyal readers – those who subscribe to our daily eNews, delivered to your email box daily at 6 a.m. Yes, it helps us build our email following, but we think everyone should support the local news economy!

Mostly, however, it’s a way to brighten someone’s day.

Congratulations to Shaunte – and a big thanks to her daughter, Amelia – age 5 – who doubled as photographer for the hand-off.

Fine print: Winners are selected at random using Google Random Number generator. The winning number corresponds with our email subscriber list provided via Mail Chimp. Winners are notified via email.
