Avella hired as new GMCC Director of Membership

MANCHESTER, NH – To enhance its ability to serve the Greater Manchester business community, the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) has recently hired Heather Avella to fill the role of Membership Director.

Avella will be responsible managing and directing all membership-related activities at the GMCC including new member sales, renewal of existing members and enhancement of existing membership packages. A major focus area of Avella’s role will be to ensure that GMCC membership packages are relevant, unique and valuable to members.

“We are fortunate to be able to add a professional with Heather’s talents to the GMCC Team,” said Michael Skelton, President and CEO, GMCC. “Heather is hard working, passionate and has demonstrated success throughout her career. With Heather’s assistance, we look forward to strengthening the GMCC mission and membership.”

“I couldn’t be more pleased to take on the role of Membership Director with the GMCC,” said Avella. “This role is unique, because I will be focused on learning on what makes each member unique! I will be identifying how the GMCC can best serve specific needs of each individual member in order to help them grow.”

Avella has spent the last six years gaining leadership, business development and project management experience through contract and volunteer work. Most recently, she held the role of President of the Board of Directors for the Manchester Food Co-Op, having helped grow the organization from inception to nearly 1,500 member-owners. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
