MANCHESTER, NH – Planet Fitness celebrated the official opening of its new Huse Road location on Monday.

Located across the street from a previous Planet Fitness location, the new facility is 22,000 square feet and will open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Rich Childs, Director of Corporate Operations for Planet Fitness says the new facility is slightly larger than the old one and also holds new amenities such as a brand-new spa.

“It’s exciting, there’s a lot of energy for our brand,” he said.

Childs also expressed appreciation to Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig and other local officials for their support during the transition across the street.

“I think it’s a good example of how you can partner with the city to get things done,” he said. “That’s what it was, a partnership as far as moving pieces with the city, our developer and our landlord. It was just a really great team effort.”

Mayor Craig was on hand with Childs to cut the ribbon at the facility. She praised Planet Fitness for their continuing dedication to the Queen City.

“For more than 25 years, Planet Fitness has been a staple in New Hampshire’s business landscape – and we’re proud to host two of their workout facilities here in Manchester,” said Craig. “We appreciate everything they do for our community, from providing a welcoming space to exercise to partnering with local community organizations to make a lasting impact on the lives of residents.”

He can also type over 100 words a minute on a good day.
