CONCORD, NH – New Hampshire Jobs for Americas Graduates (NH-JAG) is set to honor individuals and organizations for their work in empowering today’s youth to attain personal success in school, work and life.

On Tuesday, February 19 from 8 – 10 a.m., NH-JAG will hold its 13th Annual New Hampshire Jobs for America’s Graduates Leadership Awards Event at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.

Congressman Chris Pappas and the Manchester School District/Dr. Bolgen Vargas, Superintendent, will be honored for their leadership and commitment to improving the lives of NH youth.  Also being recognized is AT&T for contributions that have made it possible for many New Hampshire young men and women to recognize the value of their education and pursue rewarding careers.

School Superintendent Bolgen Vargas.

NH-JAG will also be honoring one of the program’s alumni, Steven Santiago, who participated in the NH-JAG program at Manchester High School West and went on to graduate from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health Engineering.

For 31 years, NH JAG has successfully served over 18,000 young people and last year attained a 100 percent graduation rate among its participating students. The statewide program facilitates learning, skill development and community involvement, empowering these young adults to identify their goals and to define and follow a productive path within which to achieve those goals.

“This event brings people together to learn more about NH-JAG and how working together, we can address two of our state’s most pressing issues – cultivating the workforce of tomorrow and developing a citizenship of engaged, talented and caring individuals,” said Dr. Susan Huard, NH-JAG Board Chair.

Sponsors for this years Leadership Event include Hannaford, the Walmart Distribution Center, Eversource, Manchester Community College and Northeast Delta Dental.  Additional sponsorship opportunities for the event are still available.  For more information on the event, sponsorships, or to purchase a ticket, contact NH-JAG Executive Director Janet Arnett at 603-647-2300.
