Ted Kitchens A.A.E., director of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport admires a Northeast Airlines DC-9 presentation model (an aircraft that served Manchester 1966-72) at the Aviation Museum of N.H. Kitchens will discuss recent and planned airfield developments at “Ask the Airport Director” on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Aviation Museum.

LONDONDERRY, NH―What new airlines are coming to Manchester? What cities will they serve? How are cargo flights doing? What new developments are planned around the airport?

These questions and many more will be part of an ‘Ask the Airport Director’ presentation on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Aviation Museum of N.H., 27 Navigator Road, Londonderry.

The event will be hosted by Ted Kitchens, aviation director of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. The presentation is free, open to the public, and all are invited.

Part of the Aviation Museum’s ‘Exploring Aviation’ series of programs, the talk is sponsored by Hoyle Tanner and Grappone Auto.

After giving an update about recent activities and challenges at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, Kitchens will take questions from attendees about the airport.

Kitchens came to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in October 2018 from the Houston Airport System, where he served as general manager. In New Hampshire, Kitchens and his staff have continued to develop Manchester Airport as a regional economic engine as the disruptions of the pandemic continue to recede.

In recent years, cargo traffic has continued to grow at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. The facility, now the third-busiest air cargo terminal in New England, recently opened a new cargo handling facility and welcomed a new cargo carrier, Amazon Prime Air.

On the passenger side, recent years have seen the arrival of new “ultra low cost” carriers at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport: Spirit Airlines and Avelo Airlines. In addition, Breeze Airways will begin service in June, while Sun Country will start this coming August.

The Aviation Museum, a non-profit 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization based in the 1937 art deco passenger terminal at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, is dedicated to preserving the Granite State’s rich aviation past, and also inspiring today’s students to become the aviation pioneers of tomorrow.

Named “Best Place to Take Kids” in southern New Hampshire in the 2024 HippoPress Readers Poll, the Aviation Museum of N.H. manages student plane-building programs at high schools in Manchester, Lebanon, and Farmington.
