Prospects Athletics Foundation announces hire of first Executive Director, new board members

MANCHESTER, NH – The Prospects Athletics Foundation Board of Directors, the governing body of the independent nonprofit dedicated to expanding opportunities and improving futures for all children through the frameworks of organized baseball and softball programs, recently elected three new officers and named their first executive director to lead its operations and growth of its endowment.

Bouchard

Named to the board were Matt Bouchard of Manchester (President), Lauren Thibeault of Bedford (Secretary), and Edmond Baker of Hooksett. All three volunteer members will serve a minimum two-year term and assist in the governance and direction of the growing nonprofit.

Upon the installation of the new members, the board named longtime volunteer Travis Horne of Hooksett as its first executive director. Horne has volunteered his leadership of the Foundation since it was first established as the philanthropic arm of Prospects Athletics in 2019, and his hiring signals the first paid employee of the nonprofit organization.

Horne

“I am excited to be the first official employee in this organization and look forward to building relationships with community stakeholders who share our beliefs and values,” said Horne. “We know we have a lot of work to do in building futures for kids in our community, and we believe involving them in organized athletics such as baseball and softball will lead to great outcomes for them”.

Prospects Athletics Foundation pursues three specific strategies that lead to strengthening leadership, character, resilience, grit, and mental/physical health of youth in the community, including awarding academic scholarships for post-secondary education, funding tuition and travel assistance for players participating in club baseball and softball, and revitalizing and assisting local recreational baseball and softball leagues in the surrounding towns and regions. The Foundation is especially focused on children from traditionally marginalized communities and/or who demonstrate a financial need, and is actively building its endowment to fulfill this commitment to local youth.
